  1. What forms or payments are accepted in Belize and at Itza Lodge?

    In Belize, various forms of payments are accepted. Major credit cards are Visa and Mastercard. US Cash is also widely accepted at an exchange rate of BZ$2 to US$1. At Itza Lodge accounts may be settled by US Cash, Belize Cash, Visa or Master Card only.

  2. What amenities are provided in the rooms?
    All rooms are fully equipped with standing fans and ceiling fans. Additional beds are available upon request. Bathroom amenities include shampoo, soap and conditioner, and are replenished daily. Daily Housekeeping service is provided upon request, and towels and sheets are changed every three days.
  3. How do I get to and from Itza Lodge?
    Our transfer days to and from the lodge are on Wednesdays and Saturdays only. Itza Lodge will have a representative pick you up from the international airport and bring you to the Princess Ramada Hotel dock, and then by boat directly to the resort. The boat ride is approximately 2 hours. Our departure time from the Princess Ramada Hotel in Belize City is at 2pm.
    If you are not arriving into international airport, you can simply meet us at the boat dock. Our departure time from the island to Belize City is usually at 8am, arriving at the Princess Hotel by 10.00am. We ask all guests to book outbound flights no earlier than 12 o’clock. To accommodate for later flights on Saturdays, we have added a second departure time: 8AM on Sunday from Belize City to resort. Contact us for more information.

    Group of 6 or more person is not lock to our Check-In and Check-Out Days. 

  4. Are children accepted at Itza Lodge?
    Yes, children are welcome. We have family rooms on both beach and sky level.
  5. What is the voltage in Belize?
    All room outlets are 110 volts and 60 Hertz, which is the same as the US. We rely on solar power throughout the day, and run our generator throughout the night.
  6. What are the restroom facilities at Itza Lodge?
    Our eco-lodge uses composting facilities to turn our humanure into natural compost. Our bathroom facilities use no harsh chemicals, just wood chips to aid the process. Semi-composting toilets in each guest bathroom flush with water, like a regular toilet.
  7. What happens in the event of a hurricane?
    Hurricane season in Belize is from June – September. Itza Lodge has an extensive hurricane plan in order to prepare for any upcoming storms which pose a direct threat to the island and facilities. In your room, you will find an information folder which demonstrates our meeting points and the process the Lodge follows. Itza Lodge recommends all guests to have trip insurance whilst travelling during these months.
  8. Is there internet access at Itza Lodge?
    We are connected to the outside world via satellite, and Wi-Fi is available in the dining room and lobby area of the lodge. There is no cell service on the island.
  9. Are pets allowed at Itza Lodge?
    We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.
  10. How close are the dive sites?
    Fortunately, the majority of dive sites are a 5 minute boat ride from the dock, apart from the Blue Hole which is approximately 15 minutes, and Half Moon Caye which is approximately 10 minutes. Shore diving is not possible due to the distance to the reef.
  11. What are the average depths of the dives, and is it possible to dive with an Open Water certification?
    The average depth of dives sites is between 50-80ft, with the deepest bring the Blue Hole dive where we dive to a maximum depth of 140ft. Whether you are open water certified or dive master certified, all qualified divers are welcome, and the diversity of the reef means there are suitable diving conditions for everybody.
  12. It is possible to fish from the island?
    Yes, fishing is possible anywhere from the island. There are 2 boat docks which are great for catching small snappers, grunts and sometimes barracuda! We also have complimentary kayaks which allow you to access the more secluded spots in search for tarpon, bonefish and permit. Should you wish to have a guided fishing trip, or an evening trolling for larger fish such as tuna, mackerel or barracuda, just let us know and we can arrange it for you.
  13. What transportation is available from Airport to the hotel?
    We will usually pick you up at the airport and bring you to the boat that goes to the Resort. If you need alternate transport, boats can be chartered. Inquire with Resort Management and we will help make all your in-country transportation possible.
  14. What is available to buy at the resort?
    We have a full Gift Shop with hats, clothing, jewelry and sundries such as sunblock lotion, etc…
  15. Is the water safe to drink from the tap?
    Filtered Drinking Water is located in jugs all around the Resort, including in and outside the rooms, as well as the dining/bar area.
  16. How do I make a reservation?
    Use our online booking at www.itzaresort.com, call us on 305-600-2585, or send a message to [email protected] . 50% percent of deposit in needed to secure your reservation. The Remaining Balance is due 30 Day prior to arrival.
