Bonfires on the beach

Campfires on the beach are always a great time with music, drumming, dancing and good conversation.

Relaxing & Reading

Lounge in a hammock and enjoy life on Belize time. You’ll find hammocks all throughout the resort area. Go ahead and help yourself to any of them. Want a little sun? We also offer beachside lounge chairs for reading and sunbathing. Enjoy!

Play & fun

Gather up a handful of friends and play a game of beach volleyball! We have the perfect sand court and the perfect ocean breeze to help you play a great game! Also enjoy beachcombing, bocce ball, coconut bocce, hermit crab racing, ladder ball, or try our self-guided beach work-out circuit.

Kayaking & Swimming

Swim in the Caribbean Sea. Bring your snorkel! Just off of our western dock you will find a sunken cane barge, perfect for beginner snorkels.

Stargazing & Evening fun

Love stars? We are nearly 50 miles from any city lights, you can almost reach out and touch the Milky Way! Or join us in our Atoll Room. We have many board games, a ping pong court, and darts. Or just grab a seat on a comfy overstuffed couch and read a book in from our library.

Bird watching

Birdwatching is amazing on Long Caye. Belize is home to some 500+ species of resident and migratory birds. With varied ecosystems ranging from coastal mangroves and swamps; to isolated barrier-reef cayes; to dense tropical rainforest and clear, open savannahs, Belize is a wonderful destination for avid bird-watchers and amateurs alike. Being so remote, it’s like we have our own “private” National Park!

Belize offers a wealth of incredible sport fishing. Join us on an unforgettable adventure for fly fishing the flats and/or working the Reefs and the Deep Sea fishing in the crystal clear waters around Long Caye.

You can fish off the beach for Tarpon, Permit, and Bonefish. Also, at Itza Resort the Reef Wall and Deep Sea Fishing (2000+ feet) is just a 5-minute boat ride. You can even kayak out!

We offer fishing for all levels. Whether you are a novice or an expert angler, Long Caye is sure to impress. Hook into Bonefish, Tarpon, and Permit!

Whether you want to make it an excursion for some morning exercise or just simply adventure out to sea to embrace a moment of solitude, paddleboards and kayaks are here in Belize waiting for you – and they are always complimentary when staying at Itza Resort.

Turn your afternoon or day into an adventure as you paddle to remote and private beaches on the lee side of the caye. Let our staff pack lunch for you and pull over when you spot the perfect island picnic spot!

For an evening of romance paddle, out for sunset or moon gazing. Be sure to take photos to share with your friends back home who couldn’t come.
